As automotive lighting technology emerges as a key element that must simultaneously satisfy safety, design, and energy efficiency, competition among semiconductor companies is intensifying. Amid this trend, Infineon Technologies has once again demonstrated its technological leadership by unveiling its LITIX™ family of products, which address diverse automotive LED lighting needs, along with five ready-to-use evaluation kits.
Infineon's LITIX™ series of automotive LED drivers covers everything from DC-DC converter-based high-power lighting to RGB animated interior lighting and safety-focused Adaptive Driving Beam (ADB)-compliant designs. The evaluation kits provided are ready for immediate use during the design phase and help to easily implement complex in-vehicle lighting control functions such as communication, PWM control, and error diagnostics.
The TLD4020-3ET evaluation kit, introduced first, is based on a three-channel linear LED driver for implementing interior RGB lighting and operates over LIN communication. The board provides an onboard LIN transceiver, SWD/Reset for debugging, and GPIO expansion control functions, enabling simulation of an actual in-vehicle communication environment.
Infineon explained, "This kit is a practical platform for both beginners in lighting design as well as advanced developers who want to implement complex LIN-based animations." In particular, the combination of vehicle LIN communication and RGB control is evaluated as being optimized for implementing a diverse interior UX.

The TLD7002-16ES features a standalone design that enables LED driver control without a gateway via a UART-over-CAN interface. It also provides 14-bit PWM control of up to 16 channels without a microcontroller, and integrates diagnostic and error detection functions, as well as safety features up to ISO26262 (up to ASIL B).
The Arduino-compatible LED driver shield featuring this chip is also suitable for prototyping and educational purposes, and allows PWM control testing in a real-time CAN communication environment. It is an ideal board for individual LED control and colorful animation implementation in vehicle lighting, and is receiving great response from lighting designers.

An evaluation kit for implementing Adaptive Driving Beam (ADB), a key technology for vehicle front lighting, is also attracting attention. The dual-channel SEPIC LED driver evaluation board delivers up to 40W of power per channel, along with advanced features such as adaptive power discharge, a wide input/output voltage range, and a built-in EMI filter.
In particular, the ADB lighting system requires precise control to prevent glare to other vehicles while enabling constant use of high beams. The board serves as a platform that can resolve this control complexity from the evaluation stage.
The TLD2372-3ET, TLD2382-3ET and TLD2392-3ET series are available in evaluation kits featuring a 3x3x3 red LED array with up to 150 mA current output per channel. These boards include a variety of dimming tests (analog/digital), flexible error behavior simulation, and temperature protection functions, enabling pre-verification of the stability of vehicle lighting systems under complex operating conditions.
Automotive lighting has evolved beyond the simple implementation of light sources to become a complex design element that must satisfy user experience, safety, and efficiency. With the LITIX™ series, Infineon addresses diverse needs, including precision LED driver control, communication integration, and high-reliability evaluation. Furthermore, the company is strengthening its designer-centric strategy by providing evaluation kits that accelerate development and enhance the completeness of real-world design processes.
An industry insider said, "Lighting is not only becoming a vehicle's signature, but its functionality is also becoming more important as part of safety technology," adding, "Infineon's LED driver portfolio is precisely responding to market needs in terms of technological diversity and practicality."
